Scootfest partners with Nitro World Games

Scootfest (the world’s biggest freestyle scooter festival) has announced it has partnered with Nitro World Games to crown the ‘King of Kings’ with a combined purse prize of $20,000!

As tickets go on sale for the world’s largest scooter festival, Scootfest 2018 announces a partnership with action sports giant Nitro World Games, sending shock-waves throughout the scooter world.

“From its inception, Nitro World Games has been about progression and pushing boundaries. The strength and depth of talent within the scooter world at the moment and the levels of innovation we are seeing make it the perfect fit for Nitro World Games. With scooter participation exploding globally, it is very clear that top-level scooter riding deserves the widest possible audience. Scootfest is the best of the best when it comes to competition and so we are stoked to be partnering with them and to bring to fans around the world the opportunity to see who will be crowned the Nitro World Games King of Kings.” – Nitro Circus President, Andy Edwards.

As Scootfest enters its seventh year, it has teamed up with Nitro World Games to present the legendary King of Kings competition. This will bring together scooter superstars like Ryan Williams (Australia), Dakota Schuetz (USA) and current champion Richard Zelinka (Czech Republic) for a massive prize purse of $20,000: broadcast live to the largest global audience.  Taking place at Europe’s largest skatepark Adrenaline Alley, Corby, UK, on 10th-11th November 2018, scooter riders will gather for individual glory and to represent their brands in the World Cup event.

A stacked international field will face off in the three most prestigious competitions: King of Street, King of Bowl and King of Park. Each winner will take home a coveted solid silver Scootfest ring and a portion of the $20,000 prize. The ultimate reward will go to the winner of the Nitro World Games King of Kings: the athlete who achieves the highest overall combined score across all three events.

Scootfest is well-known for giving new riders the chance to shine and 2018 will be no exception. For the first time, the Scootfest AmJam will join forces with the Grit Scooters Academy, to give all promising amateurs the chance to win a coveted annual sponsorship deal with Grit Scooters. Previous winners of this prestigious award include World Champions Jordan Clark and Dante Hutchinson: both of whom came through the Grit Scooters Academy and are still going strong now. The Scoot GB British Championships will also feature young riders as they aim for Intermediate and Novice honours, while the UK’s best riders face off for bragging rights in the Battle of Britain.

But Scootfest wouldn’t be Scootfest if it weren’t for the thousands of scooter fans who visit and get the chance to meet and ride alongside their scooting heroes and role models. If you’re a Park Pass ticketholder, you can ride sections of Adrenaline Alley’s multiple skateparks during the weekend.

“It was always our intention to make Scootfest the biggest and most inclusive scooter event in the world, and we’ve pretty much delivered on that, but seven years in and we’re about to make our greatest leap forward, working alongside Nitro World Games to deliver a very innovative series of events with an extremely high level of production to millions of scooter fans across the globe. It’s gonna go off.” – Scootfest Co-Founder, Dan Maker.
