WIN £100 if your video is chosen for an Award.
You can only enter the Dangerous Sports Awards and the Yearly Dangerous Sports Awards if you agree to the Terms (accessible via the following url: https://www.dangeroussports.com/information/terms-and-conditions), which include without limitation these competition terms (the “Competition Terms”). To enter upload a video of yourself, which may include one or more other persons taking part in some form of extreme sports (each a “Video”), and you can win £100 (each an “Award”) if your Video is chosen for an Award, it will be subject to the remaining provisions of these Terms (each and collectively the “DANGEROUS SPORTS.COM AWARDS”, and “Dangerous Sports Awards”, as applicable).
WHAT KIND OF CONTENT CAN I SUBMIT? We are looking for videos of people showing us there extreme sports skills and NOT videos of people putting themselves or others in danger.
Any Video edit you submit, must verbally mention at the start "This is my entry for the DANGEROUS SPORTS.COM AWARDS" for it to be a valid entry for the DANGEROUS SPORTS.COM AWARDS. This cannot be added into the start but spoken visually by the performer in an unedited version of the Video before you perform your skills or tricks. The Video also must be a minimum of 1 minute long. So take your time and show us what you can do. This competition continues all year round and never ends, subject to the availability of our Website, which is not guaranteed, and the remaining provisions of the Terms.
WHO CAN ENTER?
The minimum age to submit a video is 13 years old, however the participant must also be of the required age so that they can safely practice the sport. This age will vary from one sport to another. The participant must also have enough experience to safely practice the sport. Parents and guardians may submit a Video on behalf of a participant (including without limitation a producer or athlete) that is younger than 18 years of age, and we can where you ask us to, reference the participant that is under 18 years of age as the winner if he or she wins. In this event, the winner will be paid into their parent or guardian's bank account, for the avoidance of doubt. There are no cash or cheque payment options. Any winner who does not meet these conditions will have their video removed from the competition. 100% RAW VIDEO CLIPS Submit the native raw .mp4 file shot on your camera. Submissions must be shot in HD or higher resolution (720p, 1080p, 1440p, 2.7K, 4K). The higher the resolution, the better. Videos with poor visual quality will not be considered. To earn an Award, the submission must not be edited in any way. You then need to upload your Video to your YouTube or Vimeo channel and submit the link to us.
SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT THE RIGHT + CLEARANCES FOR PEOPLE, PLACES OR MUSIC FEATURED IN MY PHOTOS OR VIDEOS?
Yes! These are all very important. We want to respect our friends, neighbours and fellow artists, so you’ll need to obtain approval from any recognizable people seen in your photos or videos, and/or material where you are not an owner or licensee of the applicable intellectual property rights necessary to use such photos, videos and/or material. Dangerous Sports cannot use anyone’s image or intellectual property without their permission.
WHAT SPORTS VIDEOS CAN BE ENTERED INTO THE COMPEITION?
Subject to you being of the age required to practice the sport, and the remaining provision of the Terms:
Skateboarding, Longboarding, Mountain Boarding, Sandboarding, Drifting, BMX, Motocross, FMX, Aggressive Inline Skating, Mountain Biking, Caving, Slacklining, Abseiling, Rock Climbing, Free Climbing, Bouldering, Mountaineering, Parkour, trampolining, Sand kiting, Zorbing.
Water: Surfing, Long/short, Body boarding, Water-skiing, Wakeboarding, Kitesurfing, Windsurfing, Cave diving, Flow boarding, Paddle surfing / Stand up paddle, Kayaking, Cliff Jumping, Coasteering, Scuba Diving, Knee Boarding, White Water Rafting, Skim Boarding, Jet Skiing.
Snow and Ice: Snowboarding, snow skiing, Ice Climbing, Snowmobiling, Snow Kiting.
Air: Base Jumping, Skydiving, Wing Suiting, Bungee Jumping, High-lining, Hang Gliding, Paragliding, Slacklining.
Unfortunately, video edits submitted with unlicensed music cannot be considered for a Dangerous Sports Award. We love good music as much as the rest of you, but there are legal restrictions around Dangerous Sports celebrating your content unless the music has been licensed or is royalty-free. If you’re not sure where to access music that’s available to use, simply submit your raw Dangerous Sports clips. That’s a great place to start.
HOW DO I MAKE SURE MY CONTENT STANDS OUT?
Good question! Always submit the highest quality and best resolution for any Video, without the addition of watermarks. Lastly, the more info we have, the better! Complete the fields in the content submission form to the best of your ability.
WHEN I SUBMIT CONTENT, WHAT AM I ELIGIBLE FOR?
Dangerous Sports Awards is your gateway to a world of opportunities. Great content across the board will be celebrated on the Dangerous Sports social channels. The winner videos in Dangerous Sports Awards will be chosen by the skills shown by the participant, taking into consideration their age. Each winning video in Dangerous Sports Awards during a set year will be entered into the Yearly Dangerous Sports awards at end of the year (each and collectively the “Yearly Dangerous Sports Awards,” as applicable). Each award that can be won in the Yearly Dangerous Sports Awards shall be known as a “Yearly Award.” During the year the prize for the "Yearly Award" will be announced.
IS THERE A LIMIT TO HOW MANY TIMES I CAN SUBMIT TO DANGEROUS SPORTS AWARDS?
Subject to the availability of our Website, which is not guaranteed, and the remaining provisions of the Terms, Dangerous Sports will use reasonable endeavours to ensure Dangerous Sports Awards is always on; and there’s no limit to how many Video entries you can submit. Submit all of your best, brightest and most captivating content, but keep in mind—multiple submissions of the same video will not increase your chances for an award.
HOW DOES DANGEROUS SPORTS COMMUNICATE WITH ME?
Dangerous Sports will use the email you give with your submission. It’s important that your contact information is current and accurate to ensure proper delivery of Dangerous Sports notifications.
HOW DO I KNOW MY CONTENT HAS BEEN SUBMITTED?
A confirmation email will be sent on your first submission of a Video. Multiple uploads will not result in multiple emails. All notifications will be sent to the email address associated with your submission.
HOW DO I KNOW MY CONTENT HAS BEEN REVIEWED OR SELECTED?
Dangerous Sports experts review every valid Video submission for the Dangerous Sports Awards. If your content is selected for an Award or a Yearly Award acquired for future use, you’ll receive an email notification with additional details.
WHEN WILL I BE NOTIFIED + WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE MY CONTENT FEATURED BY DANGEROUS SPORTS?
Dangerous Sports will use reasonable endeavours to review Video content daily. Notifications about an Award or a Yearly Award will be sent to recipients as they are granted. If you don’t receive a notification immediately, don’t worry—your content may still be in consideration. There is a slim chance you could see your content featured as a winner on our Website prior to receiving an email notification.
HOW DOES DANGEROUS SPORTS DECIDE WHAT CONTENT WILL RECEIVE AN AWARD?
Dangerous Sports examines Video submissions and the quality of submissions to determine which ones deserve an Award or a Yearly Award. Always submit the highest quality and best resolution for any Video. Video edits should be captured and submitted in the highest quality possible, without the addition of watermarks, filters or other colour treatments.
Lastly, the more information we have, the better! Complete the fields in the content submission form to the best of your ability.
CAN I RECEIVE MULTIPLE AWARDS?
Absolutely. There’s no limit to the number of awards you can receive or the frequency with which they can be awarded beyond what has been detailed herein. Dangerous Sports will be consistently rewarding our favourite content submissions, so keep them coming!
WHEN DOES THE DANGEROUS SPORTS AWARDS PROGRAM END?
It doesn't. Dangerous Sports aims for the Dangerous Sports Awards to run throughout each year. Subject to the availability of our Website, which is not guaranteed, and the remaining provisions of the Terms, Dangerous Sports will use reasonable endeavours to ensure it doesn’t. We may in the future split the awards into categories of sports depending on the number of entries, but such a development will be clearly listed on the Dangerous Sports Awards homepage.
IS THERE ANYTHING THAT I SHOULD NOT SUBMIT?
Great question. In fact, any Video that contains information or data that a reasonable person would consider inappropriate should not be submitted, and this includes without limitation seven specific examples of content that shouldn’t be submitted as a Video. Those categories include information or data that:
1. Infringes, misappropriates or violates a third party’s patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, moral rights or other intellectual property rights, rights of publicity or privacy;
2. Violates or encourages any conduct would violate any applicable law or regulation or would give rise to civil liability;
3. Is fraudulent, false, that misleading or deceptive;
4. Is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, vulgar or offensive;
5. Promotes discrimination, bigotry, racism, hatred, harassment or harm against any individual or group;
6. Is violent or threatening or promotes violence or actions that are threatening to any other person;
7. Promotes illegal or harmful activities or substances; and
8. Contains video data of one or more individuals engaged in a sport, where such individual/s (as applicable) are not yet of the age considered usual within the industry of that sport to practice the sport in question.
CAN DANGEROUS SPORTS USE MY CONTENT EVEN IF I DON'T RECEIVE AN AWARD?
HOW OR WHERE MIGHT DANGEROUS SPORTS USE MY SUBMISSION?
There are a number of ways in which Dangerous Sports might decide to celebrate your Video content, including but not limited to channels like YouTube™ and Vimeo. Additional uses may include Dangerous Sports promotional materials and official Dangerous Sports social channels such as Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Content licensing opportunities are also available.
WILL THOSE CASH AWARDS BE TAXED?
Yes, all payments distributed by Dangerous Sports are exclusive of taxes, duties, levies, tariffs and other governmental charges. In the event you receive an Award, you will be responsible for paying any applicable taxes, interest and penalties due.
IF I AM SELECTED A DANGEROUS SPORTS AWARD, HOW WILL I GET PAID?
If you’re selected for an Award or a Yearly Award, you’ll be notified by email with directions on how to receive your compensation. Dangerous Sports will use reasonable endeavours over a 90-day period to request your payment details in order to full fill payment for your Award.
LET'S BE CLEAR - Before submitting your entry, you must read and agree to the Terms. You must only make a video if you’re of the appropriate age, skill and experience to practise the sport. You make any Video at your own risk, and you should only make a Video if you are, officially, licensed and/or deemed o to practice and skilled enough to practice the sport. Please take care and use appropriate safety equipment. Dangerous Sports takes no responsibility and shall have no liability should anything go wrong during the making of your Video. Dangerous Sports are not encouraging you to endanger yourself in an unreasonably way making your Video, Nor does Dangerous Sports want you or anyone to get hurt. Your safety and the safety of others is paramount. We are not looking for dangerous videos but videos of people showing us their extreme sports skills. It's not judged on danger but on your sports skills. We are NOT looking for videos of people putting themselves or others in danger.
